What type of screws does everyone use when building cages? especially melamine?

i am building a rack right now and im using 1 1/4 drywall screws and "Loctite POWER GRAB" construction adhesive to hold the melamine together.

We use Deckmate screws. They are stronger than drywall screws and will not rust in a high humidity environment. They are specifically made to be used outside on decks. We also use Gorilla glue to glue the melamine together. It is the best glue that we have found when it comes to adhesion with melamine. It also helps to seal the seams where the two parts meet.
