Butter Morphs

ALFONSO Nov 05, 2008 10:28 PM

Is there a super butter produced yet?
Can some one please post pics of different butter morphs? I am trying to figure my best choice to breed my new butter male.
This are my ready to go females,
cinnamon, pinstripe, pastels, Lesser, Albino, Het generic stripe, Het albinos and few normals.
any comment will be appreciated. Thanks.

Why don't you just breed him to all of them? He should be able to handle at least a few of those girls. And a super butter is a BEL.

jaymiller242 Nov 05, 2008 11:28 PM

For all intents and purposes the Butter and the Lesser are the same Morph. They just have a slight difference in colors from time to time as any Morph does or even Normals for that matter. I have 2 early "08's" and one older 05 Lesser male. Of the 08's one is a Lesser female and the other is a Butter male. If I put those two snakes on the table for you to look at other than a little difference here and there in their pattern like any snake has you would not be able to tell one from the other. In fact if I put them both down and didnt tell you they were different you would just assume they were both Butters or both Lessers. Hey the Lesser Pastel is a really nice snake as well as using a Normal to make more Lessers with him. You can put the Lesser with a Cinnamon and make Pewters. Those are nice too. Believe me I am new to this and I ask all the same questions and I am getting some answers I really like. Enjoy them.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe a butter/cinnamon is a pewter? Pastel/cinnies and pastel/black pastels are pewters. I'm not sure I personally have every seen a butter/cinny.

On the other hand, I have a pastel/butter on loan and it is remarkable. Butter/pinstripes are really nice too. butter/lessers will make white snakes, always cool, but dead end projects so far.

I say run the butter through them all and see what pops out!!!

pitoon Nov 06, 2008 05:27 AM

lesser x cinny has been produced ealier this year sometime. wicked looking snake.

also lesser is from RDR's line which deprived from the original platty.

who originated the butter?

will a butter and a platty produce a platty? this is the question to prove out before saying a butter and a lesser is the same morph, just a varience of color. it's like saying a cinny and a black paster is the same morph only becuase they can both produce a black snake. while cinny's and blk pastels look nothing a like in my opinion.

to me lesser's are more greenish/yellow while butters are more yellow.

Butters have been proved to produce platties. Ralph did it last year.

I wounder what they have made so far with them ,maybe shot them a email and ask. Butter to Butter will make a really clean white BEL. I like them alot. I think I'm going to try and get my Lemonblast or Pied to lock up with my female Butter. The Emperor Ball that Brad Boa made this season look unreal in person.

The Lesser/Butter Pewter does exist. It's a beautiful snake... similar to a regular Cinny Pewter... but WAY smooth looking and WAY more kick @$$. Ian G was selling one that last time I looked at his table, I believe.

I didn't doubt a lesser/cinny had been produced, I was wondering what it was being called. So are we gonna call every morph crossed into a cinny a pewter? That seems silly. A pastel/cinny should be a pewter, i'm not even sure I like a pastel/black pastel being called a pewter. A black pewter I guess. But a lesser/cinny is now a Lesser pewter? That sounds to me like it would be a lesser/pastel/cinny. Maybe I'm wrong, just an opinion.

illbeyoursoldier Nov 06, 2008 04:41 PM

HA! So true. Yeah, I guess when you put it like that, the Lesser Pewter Does sound like a Lesser/Pastel/Cinny. I never thought of it that way.

I guess the guys below said it was called a Lithium??

I sure hope my 1.1 look that good when they are breeding size.. Hey anybody in here frm the Houston area? Looks like I'm gonna be forced to move there from Phoenix soon.

If you breed your Butter and your Lesser your clutch should statisticlly be 50% Butter/Lessers 25% a pure white snake which is the Super form of the Butter or Lesser and 25% Normals.. Im pretty sure thats what you would get breeding the Butter to the Lesser.

Here is a pic of our super butter, aka a blue eyed lucy (BEL). We bought him from Mark and Kim Bell at the 2007 Daytona show when he was 270 grams. He ate like a pig from the moment we brought him home and sucessfully bred several ladies this season. We produced some amazing pastel butters and other butters with him. Below him is a pic of one of the pastel butters we produced this year.

Breed them to them all! Just make sure you give him a break

With all those ladies, you can shoot for:
- Butter/Lesser Pewter (I say "Butter/Lesser" because there seems to be some debate here on what to call the morph for this particular thread, just throwing out there that I mean one in the same) when you breed him to your Cinny... Butter/Lesser Pewters are kick a$$ snakes by the way (see above post).

- and not to mention all those other co-doms you have. With the Pin and Pastel, you can shoot for King Pins (Lesser/Butter Pinstripes) and Lesser/Butter Pastels.

-And you CAN get the super form of the Butter with what you have. A Butter x lesser (with some debate) are technically one in the same, and will produce a Blue Eyed Leusistic, which IS the super form of a Butter or Lesser.

- I think breeding him to the Albino would be a waste though. I'd find a cheap Het Albino somewhere to take her to. Or maybe another Recessive morph (like a Pied or something) to start your own project.

-Its the same with the Het Gen Stripe... You COULD start your own Butter/Lesser Gen Stripe project... Breed the Butter male to the Het Lesser Female, grow up the Male 66% Poss Het Gen Stripes babies and breed Back to Mommy and hope you have some luck on your side. I would just find a Male Gen Stripe to Breed to her as well tho IMO.

-Take him to the normals to make more Butters!!!

Again, just make sure he gets a break

Somone on here a while back produced one and named it the Lithium ball if im not mistaken.

serpentineexotic Nov 06, 2008 12:07 PM

I don't know about cinnamons, but Brian Sharp was the first to produce a lesser x black pastel cross. He was calling it a black platinum.

Kind of an odd name for these things, I prefer Lesser Cinnamon...really like the blue eyes on this boy though...

kinderman Nov 06, 2008 04:51 PM

Looks different in pattern and MUCH different in color.

I guess I will run him thru the Pinstripe (since I love the kingpins) but I was not sure if Lesser and Butter had the same genes. I have a total of 3 lessers and 2 of them are more greenish/brownish color and my bigger female looks the same as the new male butter "yellowish".
I will give him a try with the Spider as well since I like the lesser bee and I figure butter bee will look the same, and of course he will be with couple more normals.
Here are a couple of my lessers (they look different)
Thank youall for the comments and good luck at the breeding season.

Alfonso

I would have thought that Top one was a Butter. They have to be one in the same. Very nice lesser You have ,looks just like my female Butter.
