Totaly depends on the lamps temp...
Just use non coated wire.

Well was looking into building an iquana cage because my fiance wants to rescue one and everything says to use the coated wire as to not cut their toes?

Wire is round doesn't cut to well. I used 19 awg hardware cloth with Iguana's for 10 years never cut their toes. You just want to use a larger opening so their toes don't get stuck.
I din't use heat bulbs or any bulbs outside the cloth. Everything was on the inside. Never had a burn either.
If the basking spot is sufficiant the animal won't go near the bulb. An animal that climbs on the bulb is telling you the spot isn't hot enough...
