we got a boa that we have found out is a black tailed nic/anery type 2. i have a concern is there any deffinet way to tell if a snake has a broken jaw other than x-rays? the guy we got her from we think got her in a questionable way,we also think she bit him and i don't know if he did anything to her but we have had her a week and a half and she has not eaten for us yet. he said she ate a week befor we got her but she is so skinny you would think she would eat,she almost acts afraid of the food i also tried f/t live rats and mice.not sure what to do going to try to feed her again this weekend. thanks for all the help ahead of time.

If her jaw just looks a bit odd, she may not have put it back in place yet...the skull is really flexible and can get into some weird positions untill the snake yawns to fix it...

As for not eating, I would make sure her temps, humidity are correct, give her a few dark places to hide in her cage, and let her completely alone for a few weeks to settle in...it's possible the new environment is causing her stress, and that may be why she is refusing to eat...
