FOUR Adorable Colorful YOUNGINS

PHEve Nov 06, 2008 02:22 PM

Just had to post some baby/ youngster pics.

Here are some pics of Baby Akema, shes the smallest/ youngest, she just met up with the youngster boys. They were having a good time. The boys are Sohu, the little NM guy from Valerie, and my two yellowhead kids, Mohegan, and Honehe.

I am always amazed how tolerant the larger lizards are of the smaller lizards with the paws in their eyes or sitting on top of their heads. They sure are cute! I especially like the one of Akema straddling the larger male with her legs akimbo! LOL Hey! Why don't you name your next baby "akimbo"? It kinda fits.

LOL! Mine aren't always that tolerant. I have a WT female that is about double the size of my petite little NM girl. The other day, Nina, the little NM girl, jumped on to the WT girls back in the water bowl. She had her around the neck and waste, and WT fell backward and righted herself with little Nina clinging to her! Nina rode her like a bronco buster!LOL! It was hilarious!

The story begins.....
Well a few days ago my girlfriend saw one of the biggest male rhino beetles she has seen while up here holding on to the last bit of shade on a very humid and scorching aussie day. We see them alot out here, they usually dry out or dehydrate and die, so we ended up taking this guy in. It started out with lets hold him to a well thought out enclosure so we will be holding him till the heat dies down.

The interesting thing is, they are actually a really common pet in the insect industry, for they neither bite nor sting you which is nice. They do make a pretty scary hiss, which I can hardly handle.

Well long story short so I can show you these photos...

We took him in, gave him some pumpkin and water and he literally hasnt stopped eating since. So we are constantly feeding him and made him a little setup that I will add in the photos. We also had to figure out an answer with the little black ants that infest anything that resembles food within 5 secs of it hitting ground and we ended up using our only 4 mugs full of water and putting in each peg leg of the chair in it....I actually am proud of it (hehehehe).

And now the pictures (sorry I was photogenic that day)
Cheers,
Tony

Super NEAT.... I like him, he looks content in his special protective made little home. That was clever with the mugs to keep those pesky ants out. I had to do that one summer with ants.

Do you know anything about them, how long they live? Very intersting, I comend you and your girlfirend for caring about Puffers I like that.

Hey Tony wait a minute did I hear and say GIRLFRIEND, ahhahahaha, LMAO, You work quick Pal, keeping all kinds of treasures there in Aussie land. YOU look like a real handsome young dude in your pics , face matches the heart, ,,, but maybe not as handsome as PUFFERS, hahahaha everything seems AWESOME I'm happy for ya.

Send some aussie pics here and there, been slow here and gives us a chance to see some shots from Austraila. Thanks
