My rescue is at least 5'5", maybe even 5'9". Her age is about 5-6 years.

I'm hoping that she "tops out" at 6 feet, or just under, like most of the online literature suggests.

Am I being foolish? Do females commonly exceed 6 feet, as males often do?

Who has experience with adult females?

Does your hide most of the time, or is she active often in her enclosure?

Female Black Ratsnakes do not commonly max out at or above 6 feet, but is does happen occasionally. Five feet seems more or less average for Black Ratsnake females in general. However, maximum size is a geographical variable trait, with snakes from southern populations generally attaining larger sizes than snakes from northern populations. This goes for many North American colubrids, not just Black ratsnakes.

males typically get bigger the male at the zoo I voulenteer at is pushin 6.5

mine is a bit over 5ft, very active, ill say a colorful personality that i love, and would eat 8 days a week.

a Friend had an Albino that was almost 8ft. very impressive snake.
