Gravid Females

Will gravid females continue to feed through breeding season, ovulation, and up til they lay? Or do they stop at some point?

I think the way the common wisdom goes on that one is you can feed them up until they ovul. Once that happens you shouldn't feed them (or they just wont eat in most cases) until they lay eggs and you take them away from the eggs. Then feed them a day or two after that. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but thats how I did it last year.

I'm just trying to figure out if a gravid female will stop on her own because I have 2 females that I believe are gravid because I can see the follicles but they are continueing to eat regularly.. Anyone else care to chyme in? Thanks in Advance....

"Gravid" refers to post-ovulation.

Just because a female refuses food does not necessarily indicate that she has already ovulated.

good luck
