PICACHO * hatchling male C. vestigium

PHEve Nov 07, 2008 01:41 PM

Oh my new baby boy has arrived. His name is Picacho.

He is adorable, and some new BLOOD to add to my vestigium family, and hopefully when he matures ( maybe by next year) he can mate with my 2 year old female Kaboom.

This little tyke is about 2 months old , a real cutie that I purchased from my long time buddy/ lizard enthusiast friend, Steve Boszik. We both share the love for the baja's and he was kind enough to understand my need to bring in another male for new genes/blood.

** The tiny tyke is doing well, has had a nice cricket lunch and is very much welcomed to the family

All hail to the new Picacho! What does Picacho mean, if it has a meaning. Great name. I'm guessing it may mean..."I'm cute as all get-out and the same size as the cricket I just ate." LOL

Hi Maureen, yes it has a meaning, usually I use alot of native american names, places, but this word is spanish for "HIGHEST PEAK"

The highest peak in Baja california peninsula, is called Pacacho Del Diablo.

As I have the "HIGHEST" HOPES for this little guys future, LMAO

Aww, he's adorable but his head's so huge it looks like he's gonna fall over. Guess he'll be growing into that, huh?

Hahahhaa, your funny Kristen, sure he will grow into his head, or I will just have aBIG headed boy, lmao Vestigium have a larger looking head, their snouts are longer than C. collaris so it just appears BIG when they are hatchlings.

As does their legs/ look longer.

How is your little girl?

Getting bigger at a ridiculous pace. She's got a nice pale blue-green that seems a little brighter with each shed. I have some pictures from when she was shedding that I keep meaning to post but I never seem to get around to it. Soon though, I swear!
