This summer I had the good fortune to be able to spend two weeks living in the jungle of Cusuco National Park doing conservation studies. Unfortunately the weather wasn't that great for the two weeks but I now have the opportunity to spend two months there next summer leading part of the herpetology studies. I am in a little hurry so I will post more pics soon and give full explanations of habitat etc. but enjoy this pic for now.
The first picture is a headshot of an adult female Jumping Viper (Atropoides nummifer mexicanus). It was sunning itself and allowed me to get very close for some photos before my lens decided to fog up. This was found at a high elevation in a habitat where one side was pine forests and the other were broad leafed trees.
