So I went to Target today to stock up on some more Sterilite tubs, and every single size that I use was comepletley gone! I went to three Targets and they were the same way. After searching online for them it seems they have discontinued the 1752, 1754, and 1756 sizes!?

Does anyone know anything about this and where I can find some? I guess I'll have to switch to Iris now or something, but I need a few more sterilites for a couple racks I just built. EEESH!

Vision has an entire rack system designed around those tubs...

they ( Sterilite) change size and shape on those numbers alot,I think they like messing with us. the 1754's and 1756's that I have from 5 or more years ago don't fit the rack I bought this year that supposedly takes those "tubs". The old ones are shorter and w/ square corners, the newer ones taller w/ roundish corners.

the only thing that's constant is change........maybe.

why I always tell people to buy all the tubs they need plus all the extra they may need (breakage) before they build the racks....either rodent or snakes......companies are always messing with sizes and all.....sucks biiiigtime.

yes- they are discontinuing the current 1700's and coming out with a new line. If you need some of the old design, you will have to e-mail or call them and get some shipped to you. i have a friend who made an account just so he could get some older (not retired) sizes. Also Target had put all the older design sterilites on sale which is why none are left..

Thosee tubs are DISCONTINUED. Good luck finding them. I tried all the usual sources when I found out and haven't found any.

I share your pain with the often-changing Sterilite sizes. As someone else suggested here, I started buying my tubs before I built the racks to hold them. And the perfect time to buy tubs is upon us. I've noticed that after Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, the sell off tons of Sterilite tubs and boxes with holiday-colored lids. I picked up ten 1960s last year with red and green lids for $5 each while the white-lidded ones where still $9 each. I think my tactic will be to stock up every year after the holidays for the rack(s) I intend to build the following year.

I have 2 spares (sorry, NFS - I clean two units a week by swapping) but I was wondering if there was another brand with "close enough" dimensions.
