Some vipers from Honduras

Andrew Nov 07, 2008 08:13 PM

I spent a few weeks in Honduras this summer as a research assistant for Operation Wallacea and took my Nikon D80 out as much as possible. I was new with the camera and photography in general but was able to snap some great shots. I'll be spending two months there next summer as part of the herpetology team so I'm obviously really excited. Mind you, I'm only 21.

These guys were by far the most ubiquitous snake we came across.

Green Palm Viper. This guy stayed in the same location for two days. It was likely along a smalll mammal trail leading to the river.

were you located?

To be honest I really have no idea. I flew into San Pedro Sula and stayed in the city for one night. We then took a trip into the cloud forest in the beds of trucks to where our Base camp was located. I spent the two weeks living in hammocks or tents in the jungle so I'm really not sure.
