how beneficial would it be if i breed savanna monitors i mean who would buy them for lets say 100 or what ever if they can go and buy a wc sav for 10 to 20$ and even if i breed them people are still going to keep importing them by the hundreds i mean i want to breed them but not if its not going to help at all and if no one will buy them

Until laws restrict the importation of wc savannahs i don't see it making any detrimental effects on the species but in my opinion, every cb helps. but i really wouldn't expect to make any money off of it. unless you have pet stores or local people willing to purchase the hatchlings you would probably lose money raising and feeding all of the little(and big) ones. It's sad that people would rather have an imported wc lizard for $10 rather than a healthy cb one for $30 or $40 but it's the truth. I work at a small pet shop that sells healthy sub adult beardies for a more expensive price, but i can guarantee people they are healthy and feeding, but they would rather go to petco, spend half the price on a stressed, non feeding hatchling that doesnt usually make it... it's just how people are.

should be personal gratification. Sure some people do it for a profit but I'm sure most people in general aren’t doing it because there is money in it. They do it because they love it. It may be more of a way to recoup the cost of keeping than to turn profit.

Plus if someone is keeping two animals together and they breed, isn't that a sign that you are doing something very right? Where as when you "choose" not to breed them you are simply making them live in less then adequate conditions so that they can not possibly breed. So perhaps (when you have two or more animals together) the only way to know how well your husbandry is working is to gauge it on success (hatchlings).
