Pacific Gophers

sean1976 Nov 08, 2008 12:55 AM

Not the best of pics and definitely not many of most but here are the current pacific's I have. The amel male is a pos het anery from Jason Nelson. The striped anery pos het amel and the striped normal pos het anery pos het amel are both females from John Meltzer. The blotched pattern large one is the one that I am hoping will prove out as a gentetic inheritable hypo.

Of these the amel and the striped normal are the two with the pink or orange bellies.

Group shot

And some more of the hypoish looking one

And some OT pics of my other critters

Navel my male BRB

And of course Pierre. RAWRRRR!

Once all of the snakes are settled in and we have a better photographing setup I'll post pic's of all the snakes.

Sean.

Gophers a BRB and a cat?! Wow! Never thought I'd come across someone w/ almost the exact grouping of pets that I have. Those Pacifics are awesome as is Navel.

I like all those morphs. I found this female in April that almost looked hypomelanistic. There's a lot of variability in them and I think that's what makes selectively breeding them something that's full of possibilities.

I totally agree with the variation and huge selective breeding potential. I was doubly excited with the hypoish looking wc I got since it is from near the region I was planning on using wc specimens from for locality outcrossing. I grew up in that region and really liked some of the appearances I saw in pac gophers as well as the size of them out there.

Thanks for the compliment. It will be a little while before I am producing any with it since all the rest are hatchlings and the hypoish one I believe is a small yearling. I will probably have some offspring available by the second or third year I breed it though.
