Misting system components pics...

Just to follow up on the guy who posted about the misting system. This system consists of all the parts shown in the link. I will not tell you how to use them as we all have our own arboreal species and specific needs; but, it will get you where you need to be. I found it allows me to worry about feeding and cleaning-period-as long as you have a programmable thermostat with NTD and a reliable heat source. I will be happy to entertain any and all questions you may have. Very inexpensive-if you own more than $400 worth of animals, a misting system is a must. The link even tells you where to purchase the parts. The best part of this project was the fact that I was able to pick and choose all the parts apart from the pump-the pump manufacturer is your choice. Best of luck....

Hey nice pics. It is nice having a misting system. Im still trying to perfect how I want to set the Herpstat Humidity. That thing is awesome! But I think I played with it too much and got my cages a bit wet lol.

THis is how I set up my nozzles so I can angle them to focus on different areas if I notice the snake has a prefference to being near the mist in the warmer or cooler areas. (now it aims toward the warmer half).

THis does not show as much of the misting system but I figured it would help explain.

I set my water container and pump on the right side of the room in the corner behind the right bank of cages. There is a splitter coming off the pump where the hose links to each cage on each side. You can see I have a hose running on the floor board to the left bank of cages where those are connected.

The big cages have two nozzles and the rest have one. Right now they are all controlled on one Herpstat Humidity and I set it depending on what I'm focussing on.

I will also answer any questions if you have them. I am sorry to kind of jump in on this post but I figured it was just a sharing of information to help people looking at new tech to benefit their animals.

Hope it helps.

I like the adjustable mounts you have. Cost is the real issue for me as I'll have 30-40 cages that need nozzles. It would have been financial suicide to pay for that many adjustable fixtures so I went with "online" parts that I found here and there and adapted them to my needs.
How is the Humidity Controller working for you? It looks like it has great potential for me. Thanks.

Best regards,
Jeff

The Herpstat Humidity control is amazing. It does take some playing around with. SInce I ended up mounting the sensor probe right above the misting nozzle it is at the top of the cage and with cypress as a substrate I can tell it takes a while for the humidity to reach the top of the 2ft tall cage.

The cool thing about the sensor though is if the snake does change the direction (for me anyway) and the sensor gets a little wet, it has an internal heater that kicks on to dry it out.

I guess this device has more features than any of the other products Spyder Robotics even makes so I have not even come close to playing around with it enough. But I know I am very, very, happy.
