Finally got bitten!!!

brick1 Nov 08, 2008 11:21 PM

ok it was only be a yearling, my little anery male. But seeing the amount of snakes i have amassed i was wondering when it would happen!! Ended up getting bitten about 6 times in the end, i decided i would just leave my hand in there and get used to it. He seemed willing to help me out on that aswell, by repeatedly striking. Cute little bugger.

cheers

uhh... congrats? :P Hopefully he doesn't make a habit of it or you'll be full of holes in no time!

I remember my first bite... it was by my 9' BCI girl, the mouth went all the way around my elbow and bled a lot! Didn't hurt though, just looked impressive! I had let her out in the snake room to exercise a bit, she got stuck between a cabinet and the wall... I tried to help her out but she had other ideas

hehe was more just happy, as i have over 30 brbs now, and while the few ball pythons get me occasionally, and the SD retics get me everyday, the brbs never have.

Also think he would have struggled to get his mouth around my pinky!!

Nah, with how most snakes can open their mouths to a 150 degree or larger angle, it's not surprising that even a small one could get a pretty good hold on you.

Many of my snakes bit when I unpacked them -as I do not think that they liked being shipped.

Yesterday one of my adults was not happy, as I went to get her out of her moss pitt. I would have left her alone, but I was giving her a new moss pitt. She gave a loud hiss and was ready to strike, but I was able to get her into her feeding container so I could clean her cage.

With all the little BRBs you have, I'm suprised it didn't happen sooner! Now you are officially a snake keeper, lol!

LOL...I have no idea how you've not gotten bitten yet, especially with keeping those pythons! Probably 50% of my critters like to get a taste of me from time to time, though the BRB are usually pretty well behaved. They're good about telling me when they need to be left alone. The JCP clearly like the taste of me, they're good for a few bites each feeding session. Brats!

Welcome to the club. lol.

neener neener neener!!!!!

About time one got you, welcome to the club. A always laugh inside when someone asks does it bite? Or do you have one that won't bite?? Reality is all can bite and many will at one time or another.
