'Bulldog' snout

beardielover17 Nov 10, 2008 03:13 PM

i was wondering if the whole bulldog looking snout on a beardie is a genetic thing that can get passed down from one to another because one of my babies hatched out with this kind of snout where the some of the others came out with normal snouts

Does one or both of the parents have a "bulldog" head?

beardielover17 Nov 12, 2008 02:08 PM

oddly enough neither parents have that kind of head...the mother is a slightly shorter snout but not like the baby...ive seen other dragons with much shorter snouts but this one is pretty short too..heres a pic...forgive my awful photography skills

heres one of him next to a normal looking baby

heres one by himself

Definitely shorter than an average head. Maybe one of the parents has a recessive trait? Get him mature, breed him and see what happens with the offspring.

I'd still like to hear what some of the best breeders have to comment on this one...

Call me stupid. But he just looks like a baby dragon to me. I have so many rescues that look so different the only thing I have learned is there are many variations to dragons.

My vet (friend) was over last night and we were talking about some of the differences. My first dragons came from Dachiu, many look like theirs and then their are the dragons that look very different.

Isn't difference the spice of life?

the pictures dont do him justice but he is diff than the others...i thought he was pretty neat...i love how diff dragons can be
