Off feed anyone?

boredfoot Nov 10, 2008 03:31 PM

My two and-a-half year old blood, who never misses a meal, has just passed on the last two feedings. Nothing in her enclosure, humidity or temps has changed. And, her F/T rats are from the same source, thawed the same way.

She just pooped about a week ago, so the pipe is clean, so to speak. Which makes this lack of feeding response particularly surprising. She sniffs around, moves away, comes back and sniffs some more, moves away, and then after an hour or so loses all interest in it.

Does anyone else ever have a blood go on a diet now and then? My ball python does it every winter for several months, but not the blood! She's usually a dumpster of an eater.

Any personal experiences or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I cannot speak for my Blood, yet. But every other snake I ever had has done that at one time or another. Balls are the worst, though!

My BSTs skip meals when they're about to shed, but thats the only time, so far. I've only had them for eleven months now.
