GRADUATION DAY DUW!!!!!

NUCCIZ_BOAS Nov 10, 2008 11:02 PM

As I'm calling it anyways. I have not been breeding snakes for very long. Considering the way my collection has grown to almost nothing except high end motleys and things, this girl will probably never leave my hands because she has a sentimental value to me. She is the only holdback I have from the first litter I ever produced back on June 10th 2006. My system at my house works pretty simply. My males of any age, along with babies and sub adults, are in the upstairs of my house. The monsters, as I like to call them, being the breedable females, have their own wall in my basement, seperate from the rest of the snakes in the house. Only the big girls live on this wall. Everything that is sub adult or a male lives upstairs.

So anyways, back in 2006 I had this litter from an argentine female to an albino male. All I have left is this girl who is an argentine cross het for albino. She has finally grown to about 7 feet, 15 lbs and has graduated into the basement! Its an exciting day for me seeing the first baby I ever produced make it to the basement with the rest of the girls. Here is her lifespan....

In the making.....

Here she is still in the oven.... Mom was a BIG girl, she has moms genetics to be HUGE......

And the birth..... 33 babies, 6 slugs, she is in that mess somewhere....

After the first shed, looks like a keeper to me!

Here she is, 1 year old.....

And here she is, 2 years old, look how the COLOR came out. That is what I call RED!

Here she is a few months ago, preparing for graduation day....

Pretty little face though huh!?!?!? Dont be fooled, she is BY FAR the nastiest snake I have ever owned!

And here she is, GRADUATION DAY! Moved into her new home in the basement. She is plenty big enough to breed, but a lack of males will hold her off until next season. Not that I mind, she will be bigger than her mom I think. TONS of babies will come out of her.

It is exciting raising up your own little ones to breeding size. I cant wait to produce with her. I think she will throw some AWESOME babies.... whatever I decide to breed her to!

That's big for 2 years. She doesn't look overweight. What do you feed her?

Technically she is 2 and a half years old. She is the best eater I have ever had. She's meaner than heck, but hits anything that moves. She has been known to come flying out of the cage to grab her food before I can even drop it in. Right now she is in jumbo rats. But she has pretty much turned into the garbage disposal of the house. If other girls dont eat, I know she will. So she gets her own meal plus leftovers sometimes.
