"T." albino/hetero albino leopard geckos

dubumb Sep 08, 2003 12:38 AM

Hi,

I just purchased 4 leopard geckos recently at the reptile show in Raleigh, NC. These little guys are really cute...

My question is... On the little container they were in it said "T. Albino" and "T. hetero" (i got 2 of each). When i got them i didnt think anything about the T., but now I'm wondering what it stands for. Could someone tell me?

Thanks a lot,
Steve Luttrell

There are three proven genetically seperate types of albinism, Tremper, Rainwater, and Bell. They are not genetically compatible, meaning if you cross a Rainwater and a Bell you will get normal-looking geckos, not albinos. Sounds like yours are all Tremper and Tremper hets.
