question about baby albinos' digestion

schan210 Sep 08, 2003 01:05 AM

I have two 1-2 week old albino babies and I would want to know if it's normal at this age for them to pass what they ate (pinhead crickets) only partly digested, or do I have a problem?

Whenever you see partly digested food, it most likely means your gecko threw up. Look for the white part of the poop near the mass, and if it’s absent, you know your gecko threw up. I've found it's normally caused by over eating, or a new food not agreeing with the gecko’s stomach. It can also be a sign of stress.
Pinhead crickets sound a bit small to me; I tend to feed ¼ to ½ inchers to my babies.
It would be best if you put them in separate cages, so you can identity who is sick. Your gecko may learn a lesson about how big it’s stomach is, and not eat as much next time. But, if it happens again, in the next few days, you should take the leo into the vet. Hope this helps, and let us know how things turn out.
