BRB LITTER

Jeff Clark Nov 12, 2008 08:47 AM

I had another litter this morning. Nine healthy babies and two slugs. The mother of this litter is Rainy. I did not realize she was gravid until about 6 weeks ago when I noticed that she was heavy for as little as she had been eating. I confirmed gravidity using the Doppler. Rainy had her first litter last year at four years of age. Most of the babies were already out and moving around the cage when I discovered them after work this morning. I will post some PICs after I get some sleep.

Most of the litter was crawling around like this one. The PIC shows how light colored babies are in comparison to adults. This mother is especially dark.

These two were still inside their membranes and were under the kraft paper. There was plenty of baby slime under the paper so it looks like the litter was delivered there. The closest one in the PIC is missing the right eye. The rest of the litter looks fine. All of them have already had their first meals.
