I'm going to skip over all the jokes, but I have 1 corn that almost always eats mice backwards. I've learned that hognose bite prey sideways as they eat frogs and toads and this punctures the lungs of the prey.

But why on earth would a snake always eat its food butt first?

one of my ball pythons eats everything i give it backwards. sometimes it starts at the front, spits it out and goes to the back. i wouldnt go with retarded i would just go with prefrence, i see it happen all the time when im a work with out snakes.

I meant it in gest. but preference got me to think of about 10 more jokes. And this bloodred does the same. May start on the head, then stops and then butt first.

I have a cal king that does this when in one of his 'moods'.
A friend gave me an inordinately large ration of guff about it, too.
I think he was like 'I see you got the new San Fransisco california king snake.'

My retarded snake is quite retarded, just dumb. I have a ball that always seem to try to eat them in the middle (sideways). it takes that snake forever to get it sorted the right way!

some get the butt
most will settle for head

maybe your snake was a breach birth

maybe the snake is just being rebellious. check for odd colorations and pierced nipples.

get the mice to brush their teeth because their mouth smells that bad.
