Mealworm gutloading and sticky vitamins?

Omnivorous Nov 13, 2008 12:18 PM

Can someone recomend some vitamin and calcium supplements that stick well to mealworms or are good to use with mealworms. The ones I have tried in the past didnt stick well to the mealworms and only worked good on crickets.

Also what is a good way to gutload mealworms?

I use the Rep-cal products...i put the mealies and powder in a small dish or tupperware and shake them vigorously - this tends to coat them properly.

Mealworms are easily gutloaded - just line a rubbermaid container with an inch or two of oatmeal, wheat germ, bran flakes etc and dump them in! Use slices of potato every couple of days for moisture - but watch for mold, make sure to throw the potatos away after the first day or two.
