zoomed bowls

viper9 Nov 13, 2008 02:54 PM

I recently got some zoomed corner bowls which I would really like to put into enclosures but cannot for the life of me get the glue that held the little cardboard "tags" in the bowl off. I have used puddy knives, fingers, water, razers, but the stuff refuses to budge. If you could give me some suggestions I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks
Mike

Dabbing the residue with masking tape sticky side helps unless the residue is worn really thin (like it may have after all you've done to it).

There is a product called Goo-Gone which will remove it. After using this stuff, wash the bowl with hot soapy water and scrub the inside with a brush, because plastic bowls are somewhat porous, and the Goo-Gone chemicals (which are harmful) will logde in there unless washed thoroughly.

Tip for you: Ceramic, glass or stainless-steel are better, as they are not porous like plastic, and they are easier to disinfect.

Thanks for the tip. I also like those better than plastic but I got the best deal ever on those bowls, got a whole set of brand new ones in 3 sizes for $1 at a herpetology auction.

Thanks
Mike
