Can someone post some pictures of gravid females or ovulations.. I'm haveing a little trouble determining if some of my females are gravid.. It would be nice if you can include a little information as far as how long after the pictures the female layed or how long it had been after copulation..

It's generally not a difficult thing to tell if you have a gravid female...you'll generally know.

When did you start putting them together? Seems a bit early to already have gravid girls...must have started rather early?

Fairly early but they are all virgin animals so its not like I'm trying to rush them into double clutching or anything like that. All my females are atleast 1600 grams and 2 to 6yrs old. I moved from South Florida up north so I didn't realy even have to cycle.. And I have been seeing copulations consistantly with 3 males and 9 females for a little over 2 months already. Just trying to get a better idea what to look for not much of a archive on gravid females.. And you often hear about snakes dropping clutchs and the breeding not even knowing they were gravid..

Look up some of Ralph Davis's Youtube videos. He has a "pet project" from this year and he walks ya through each and every step of the breeding phases. It really gave me alot of info!

Looks like rabbit pellets..??

It's aspen pellets. Never had any real problems with it, but I no longer use it because as the snake would crawl around, the pellets would break down into powder.

Yeah, there was no mistaking that one.

Here's another ovulation pic. This is typical posture for an ovulating female...all stretched out with no coils laying over her body anywhere. If you feel that swollen area it feels very hard. She is very uncomfortable! Another good essay on breeding, with pictures and descriptions of the signs of gravidity, is Marcus Jayne Ball Pythons. You can find it at ballpython.ca.

Wow thats one nice looking Female Susan, I bet she would make some really nice keeper pastels. She reminds Me of 1 of the 3 females I have that are light patterned... Female # 39,35 and 42 ... They throw the best stuff,I wouldn't get rid of those gals to make room for nothing.. There just nice and light like that one You have/ Good luck this season.
