San Diego is one big hotspot for kings.. where there are grassy fields left. You would be surprised what one small grassy field can contain.

The trick is HOW to find them.

In this era of every single piece of land in So Cal being mowed down for houses and strip malls, I'm all for catching the snakes in fields that have little time left. We do not do the snakes any favors by letting them get plowed under.

With the economy the way it is, the home building has just about stopped, so some fields have some time left.

In areas that are set aside for wildlife, lets not remove the snakes.

I would stay out of the canyons and search the grassy hills and valley near the coast in March. Of course, you won't find anything unless you place some boards, tins, or carpets over the open rodent holes and clay cracks before then. Better get busy. If you build it, they will be there.
