I have had a baby borneo for a few weeks now that will not eat...which is fine but she's starting to look very thin due to the weight she's lost. She does not seem sick and other than not eating and being thin seems fine. I have tried f/t and live, and many tricks and the only time she shows any interest is with f/t on tongs, she will strike, but its more of an aggressive maneuver. I'll dangle it and she'll come right over, strike several times before pulling it off the tongs, drop it, and sometimes she'll play around with it for awhile, but most times she just slithers away. While striking at it she puffs herself up and sometimes she gets distracted and starts striking at the side of her box (which is why I say it appears aggressive) but this is the only time she is ever aggressive..she is a sweetheart. I've also never seen her flick her tongue which I find odd. I observe her drinking on a regular basis and she moves around her enclosure as much as I would expect her to and displays otherwise normal behavior. This is not my first blood or baby blood for that matter but it is my first borneo...so have any borneo keepers seen anything like this? I should mention that she was sold to me as an excellent feeder and had good weight when she arrived, and she had also taken a normal looking poop in her box on the way here. Her temp and humidity are good.
My question is..when would you try force feeding, should I wait for her to look lethargic? I would normally not think about this but her skin is quickly becoming loose and saggy.
