cooling

squidlyjoe Nov 15, 2008 01:10 PM

Is cooling really vital to breeding ball pythons? My snakes have been courting and locking up without any serious cooling efforts on my parts, perhaps the change in daylight is more key but i dunno.
On a totally different topic, if I bred a yellowbelly to a normal would the yellowbelly and normal offspring be obvioulsy different? I've seen dozens of pics of yellowbellies and I have no idea what the hell I am looking for they look like unique normals to me. Would someone be so kind as to post a pic of a yellowbelly next to a normal?
Thanks so much
Bob

From what I understand most breeders cool their snakes in order to induce breeding, but Ive heard of several instances where no cooling yielded successful breeding.

I think yellowbellies are easy to determine when you are looking at them in person, but here is a good guide for determining yellowbellies.
