activity level during cold months

zpops Nov 15, 2008 05:30 PM

my king went off feed about 3-4 weeks ago. i live on long island and its been getting colder. i unplugged the heater so it could hibernate. it spends most of its time under its hide, but still comes out around once a day and climbs all over the tank. is this level of activity normal during hibernation/brumation? the temp in the tank is in the low to mid 60s.

i snapped this pic today when he started climbing around.

If you are keeping the temps in the mid 60's then that level of activity is 100% normal for that animal.
