Escape-proof plastic boxes

everywomanshero Nov 15, 2008 09:43 PM

I tried to keep a grey tree frog in a sterilite box years ago and it always got out because the lids are not escape proof. How do people keep their critters from getting out of these things. I am considering a milk snake now and worried about it escaping. I could buy a premade aquairum setup but they want an arm and a leg for those things.

sterilite makes a new tub with latching lid in 15 quart now. I forget the lot 3, but its the same size as the old #1754. give it a try.

I looked at the latchable lids but the sides still seem really insecure to me. If I can lift them up with my pinky finger what would stop a snake from pushing on the side with its head and sliding out?

I just put a bungee cord around the middle - haven't had an escape in over 20 years.

"Really useful Box" at Office Depot. Like a clear milk crate with snap over locks. I can't picture ANYTHING getting out of them. I use them to contain animals while cage cleaning.different sizes too. incredibly secure!
