Dinking project questions

EmberBall Nov 17, 2008 05:01 PM

OK, I just went to a So Cal "neighbors" place last weekend, and she had some really interesting Dinking projects. Some were on the low end of the "Coolness" scale, but some, actually most, were very interesting.

It got me thinking:

Would it be feasible to have a regional website/database with people's dinking projects, in hopes that, either someone has proven out the same type of animal, someone has proven something non genetic, someone has the identical animal, and might be willing to pair their animal up with your animal, in hopes of skipping a step, and proving something out sooner? Most of the time, when someone posts a pic of a dinker and says, "What do you think?", someone replies with something like, "I have one of those too."

Just thinking out loud......any comments, concerns, questions

even if they look alike doesn't mean they are the same....

...YES having a pair of dinks that look alike should help....but at times they may be two different things....

...look at butter and lessers.......even the same as mojave actually...but all different...

sables and good granites....might look alike...

.....the fire looking snakes...there must be what...6 lines called 7 things now?...

....so.the best way is to have a male and breed it to his own daughters to make sure you got what you got....fastest in the long run...

good luck.....

....keep looking in here and classifieds for similar animals....

Eeeeh

People want to prove out their stuff -- 100 people before them might have bred and bred out something identical or similar without proving them genetic and yet people will still try. It's your cool stuff and you want to prove it or disprove it (you of all people otta get that) - irregardless of other peoples outcomes.

Breeding loans with strangers aren't any good and if they are your friends you already know what they have and if it looks like something you got. Nuff said.

But yeah I can see how it might be nice to have all the dinker projects - be they dead ends or not - listed somewhere.
