You can wash off the pinky with water and non scented soap. Then scent with...

Med Gecko
or
Anole
or
Scelop

or anything you can find that may fit their fancy. Make sure to rub the lizard all over the head of the pinky. Some folks skin the lizard and attach it to the pinky.

Good luck,

thanks for the help. i have a pinky pump for a last resort, how do i use it?

MikeRusso Nov 17, 2008 09:49 PM

I have a pinky pump, but i don't use it with Alterna. In my opinion if they are not eating then they are usually too small.. I have better success assist feeding mouse tails as a last resort..

Does anyone here use a pump with alterna?

I use a pump but only do so if the snake isn't in a weakened condition. In other words if the snake never ate and it's weak I won't do it because I find that the stress will usually kill the snake at that point. So I basically decide to pump or not to pump after the first few attempts at getting it to eat.
