EDB breeding question

FLAohHerper Nov 17, 2008 07:36 PM

I recently put my pair together. Now the male I have is 100% male, and the female was never probed by me but was bought as a female, and It looks like one.So it is NOT 100% for sure female. When I put them together, within the first minute the supposed female was doing all of the head twitching and caressing on the males back.I always thought that was a male characteristic.Do females do this as well? The male was non-receptive.I dunno if it is because they are both males,or because he just wasn't ready at the time.So I guess my main question is,do females do the twitching and rubbing as well as the males?Or do I have 2 south beach males together!?

thanks,
mike

Most female snakes, especially pit vipers, will exhibit this muscle twitching behavior as well. My female copperheads will start head twitching when they are placed into a container where the male was before them.
