Water Bowl Size

JMo Nov 18, 2008 07:53 AM

How important is it to have a water bowl large enough for the snake to soak in? I have never seen my BPs soak in their water bowls and the large bowls take up a good amount of space in a 32qt tub. Thanks.

I have a couple that will soak before a shed. This girl soaked during her whole shed cycle this time last year and here she is again. I usually have a 7in bowl in there. I switch it out then they act live they want a soak.

I don't know how much soaking a BP does in the wilds of Africa but I don't really think they ever need to soak. Most all of my animals never soak. And the ones that do, I think they just like to get in there to feel more secure because they will stay in there even if the water has all or mostly spilled out and if I provide a hide they stop soaking. Huh JP
