HELP!! MITES!!!

knottydread Nov 18, 2008 10:49 AM

My girlfriend just called me freaking out because she just saw some mites on our newly acquired retic, we've had her for around a month..

What is the best solution to get rid of them? A vet friend of mine is saying to take to an exotics vet and not to buy anything over the counter?

Anyone have some advice before I drop $100 at the vet?

Thanks!

prevent a mite. costs maybe 20 bucks and is worth its weight in gold. just take the snake out. spray down the cage let dry put it back in. boom no mites within like 3 days tops

There are a few steps you can do in the mean time to lessen the severity. CLean it's cage and all material in it and use newspaper... Also let the snake soak in warm water for a while, the mites will drown...

Best of luck...
