Nice day in Brownsville, Texas!

RioBravoReptiles Nov 19, 2008 02:15 PM

I took a walk-about this morning in a couple of spots south and east of town. I found two Indigo snakes (which pretty much makes any day for me).. first, a VERY ancient looking female about 6 feet long... she was very well-mannered.. 'pleased to meet you'! pretty much describes her 'tude.

.
... plus a first-year male (very photogenic little guy)..
.

.

.
.. these sliders were up looking for heat, air temps before 10:00AM were in the mid 60s.
.

.

.
.. and look at this! a nearly colossal Texas Coral snake.. I spotted her exiting the pavement on a side road at about 10:30am..
.

.
.. life is full of surprises..
.
Have fun, be safe!

That's an amazing day Gus. I would kill to just see one indigo. I need to take a trip down that way. It's not all that far from SW La. Maybe one day. Thanks for the great posts.

Wow Gus...those are nice. Back in the early seventies I use to get texas indigos from a man called "The snakeking'. Do you you remember who he might have been? The ones he sent though were not the "blond" phase. Are most of them in that area blonds???

You just had to rub it in, didn't you? Herp season is over up here in Northern Texas. Sigh..
