This is a female East Langtry Gray-banded kingsnake caught as an adult in 1993.

She actually laid a clutch of eight fertile eggs this year,all of which hatched. However, this past year, one of her eyes has taken on this cloudy appearance:

I am pretty sure this is old age related. Any of you ever see this in any of youralterna? Thanks for any help, G. Merker

I never had that but a friend with an alterna from Chihuahua had one that, in his old age, developed cataracts that looked similar to that. --hw

I have a ruthveni thats pushing 30 years old and both of his eyes are like that.When he smells food hey just opens his mouth and goes crazy until he has ahold of something.

We have an alterna female that was an adult on unknown age when we got her 8 years ago. Both her eyes look like that. The eyes got cloudy three years ago. Her appetite is still good although in the last couple months she has had very bad sheds. I think the eyes are age related. Not sure about the sheds.

I have two with that exact same condition. One is a male Loma Alta caught in 2000 as a young adult and the other is a generic 277 female of unknown age...It doesn't seem to affect them at all...It does seem to be age related, but I wonder what it is??

I have one as well...Reported to be 2003 but I think he's much older...He's 582 grams and 49.25 inches in length and knows what to do with the ladies...Juno Road...
