Damon,
In your post below, "Orange, gray, white, and black...", the photography is absolutely stunning. I was wondering if you might give me a few tips. I'd like to set up and take similar pictures of my own snakes. I've been collecting rocks and wood from around my property and was thinking of setting them up in a 3x3x3 box.
Can you give me some lighting and lens suggestions? I currently don't have any good lights. I use a NIkon D70s with Sigma 18-50 (3.5-5.6), Sigma 55-200 (4-5.6), and Nikon 70-300 (4-5.6) lenses. I'd like to get this NIkon 50mm (1.4) lens as well:

I think it will be a vast improvement over the telephoto lenses I have. What do you think?
What kind of lighting would you suggest for someone on a budget?
I shoot in raw and jpeg and use professionally Photoshop on a daily basis (though not as a photographer).
Thanks, Damon (and anyone else who wants to chime in).
-Mike
