BLACK HILLS TODAY (S Dakota) 12 November 08 World-Record Reptile Contest - South Dakota Family Attraction Offers Bounty for World’s Largest Reptiles
Reptile Gardens is a world-renowned animal and nature loving family attraction in Rapid City, SD. They already boast the largest collection of rare reptiles on earth, but this reptilian refuge continues to search for ways to expand their collection with other record-breaking elements. These reptile experts are extending their colossal efforts to like-minded reptile enthusiasts that have been holding out for a good reason to find and capture a thirty-foot anaconda or an 800-pound giant tortoise.
Reptile Gardens is now offering rewards for the live capture and safe delivery of seven different mammoth monstrosities of the reptile world to include: a 30 foot python or anaconda; a 25 foot crocodile; a 16 foot alligator; a 19 foot king cobra; an 8 foot rattlesnake; an 800 pound giant tortoise. The giant crocodile pays the most of any of these, meriting its captor Reptile Gardens’ largest reward yet - $100,000!
“Capturing one of these magnificent animals would indeed be a world record - the only type of find consistent with our already world famous collection,” comments John Brockelsby, Public Relations Director for this reptile retreat. “If you are gutsy enough to attempt the hunt and capture, do your best to size up the animal before putting your life at risk. To be worthy of our reward, the creature must fully fit the specified size. Deliver any one of these sizably rare and record-breaking specimens to Reptile Gardens, alive and in good condition, and we really will pay you the ransoms listed on our website.”
As much as the team of curators at this family adventure park would love the opportunity to work with the world’s largest king cobra or alligator on record, they are not too optimistic that such an opportunity will soon arise. The hunt is a daunting and dangerous task for anyone to ensue. But should you do so, and succeed, your freakish findings and efforts will be rewarded with a safe home for the animal and a bounty payment from one of South Dakota’s favorite family attractions – Reptile Gardens.

Should you decide to take on this dangerous mission, remember, these animals must be legally obtained with the proper permits in place. Or, you could avoid the difficulty involved in obtaining the proper permits and the risky task of hunting one in the wild by getting yourself a baby and raising it to a prize size - although the neighbors might take exception to having a 25 foot croc in your backyard!
