FIELD HERPING IN FLORIDA

TOM_CRUTCHFIELD Nov 21, 2008 05:41 PM

can be VERY interesting. Yesterday under less than optimum conditions we took a little looksee and found this jumbo EDB. This guy was between 5-6' long. Take a close look as this is what fieldherping for C. adamanteus is all about. One has to be pretty good at it to even see one. Hope you enjoy....TC

That’s always a nice sight. We have the luxury here in south Fla of turning up just about anything even at this time of the year. You are right about the conditions- takes more skill to see things when less than optimum. And not sure if too many people know- they often don’t rattle, and there is usually another pretty close by! I’m looking forward to getting back out with an old herping buddy sometime in the next couple of weeks. I will be bringing a camera, which I almost never had with me in the “good old days”. I hope I’ll find something worthy of sharing. I bet even the pythons are pretty good at camouflage.
