(to keep from the post getting deleted..) A very popular internet based pay company limit your account when they found out you were receiving payment for snakes?

This is bull. I've been on hold for 30 minutes now..

That seems highly illogical - unless you're selling something illegal, I don't see why they have any reason to care. Secondarily, how did they even find out that that's what it was for?

How would they even know?

I haven't experienced a problem with the most used CC receiving/sending online service. Are you verified?

And asked me if I was selling snakes and where I was advertising them (I figured they wanted to make sure I wasn't ebaying them, or something). Then later today my account was limited. I think they knew I was selling snakes due to comments from buyers.

I finally got someone on the line and they were more concerned with the shipping of the snakes, and asked for tracking #'s. So, apparently they're not concerned with my selling snakes, just with the shipping.

I have never had any problems. Many peaple pay me for snakes and quite often there is some comment in the subject line etc. about what it's for. My pals at the internet payment company have never said one single word about it.

I am registered with them as a business and "reptiles" is even in my business name........??????

Yeah, I thought it was weird. They were apparently concerned with their shipping, and not them. So I should be good to go as soon as I give them all my tracking #'s. Still a pain, though.

That internet payment company has recently enacted a policy that they hold payments for 21 days or until buyers on that famous internet auction site leave positive feedback for the seller if the seller has not had enough recent activity with them. I suspect that rather than your problem having anything to do with reptiles they are just trying to make sure there are no problems between you and your buyers. I have not had this happen with my account but I do quite a bit of business with the unnamed internet payment company. And like Dave my account is a business account with "snakes" in the name of the business.

The unnamed online payment company and the unnamed online auction company are notorious for coming up with peculiar policies over the past year or so. The unnamed online payment company is not a real bank so they dont have to operate by federal guidelines and can freeze your account or refund a buyer pretty much whenever they like. Nothing bad has happened on my end, but with all of the odd new rules, I move payments out of that account pretty quickly. With all of these seemingly made up and definitely unpublished rules and policies, I use them as little as possible these days.

I try not to use them too much anymore either, unless i'm buying through a CC. We bought a $1k animal that was never shipped to us, and I had used money in my account to pay for it, instead of CC, so I couldn't make a complaint to the credit card company. The guy removed all the funds from his account, so of course we were stuck without a refund.

Then, a year later, the guy used the account for something and we got our 1k back. Though, I feel bad a little bit about that, because he likely had scammed that cash from someone else.
