morph question

luckydog Nov 24, 2008 08:22 AM

The first plainly visable morph was the albino Right ? Bred Some 12 years ago by ole Bob I think. Now theres more than I know.
Are these many morphs created by sheer massive captive production and Inbreeding/linebreeding and a keen eye ??? Or is it just freak of nature ??

A lot of times the new morphs are wild caught import or captive hatches. But others, like the bumble bees or supper pastels are a form of selecting breeding called designer morphs.

I do believe the first morph with balls was albino. I burmese pythons were the first boid to get the albino gene much longer before the balls. Thats why they are so cheap.

.........albino ball to albino ball....@10 egg clutches....
albino burm to albino burm.....@ 25 to 40 egg clutches....
...you can sell albino burms @ 100$ and more all day long....
...albino balls are getting real close to that for wholesale....
so....10 X , or 40 X the money....burms will be a better breeding project real soon.......actually, they are about tied right now except for the size differences....

.....as for morphs...yes,,,they just pop up in the wild usually...and in breeding colonies, here, Africa, and Europe and all......
