I'm thinking about getting a corn snake. It seems to be the best beginner snake. Before I get a snake, I want to make sure the enclosure I have is set up perfectly. I have a short glass tank (20" long X 10" wide X 7" high) that seems like it would be a good place to start. I also have an UTH (zoo-med) and a screen top. The UTH is stuck to the bottom of the glass tank. I know the ambient temperture should be anywhere from 75 to 85 degrees. But how hot is too hot for the surface temperture? Also I was thinking of using aspen for the bedding, if you have any other suggestions, please let me know.
