Yeah, temps like that are way to high and even more so for a baby weakened by the shipping ordeal.
Sadly I also get occaisional reports of my bebies escaping or otherwise not still alive. IMO allways keeper fault. I know I've been doing this for years and "have it down" but I just don't get it...
I've raised up dozens of baby BRB's in my own collection.
Held onto many dozens more through the winter.
Produced and held onto hundreds until at least two or three months old.
Other than a few more seriously deformed that I've had to put down, I've not "lost" a single one. No escapes, no deaths.....
I know they're listed and widely agreed on as a "moderate difficulty level" snake but IMO it's quite easy. Proper temps, proper cage, feed and clean - PERIOD!! (the proper cage automatically holds in humidity) Heck, I do NOT own one single humidity gauge, unless you count the snakes themselves - they shed OK, the humidity is OK
Sorry for the rant, I just hate hearing of another baby passing.
On a lighter note, I'm back to 100% of my collection named - including holdbacks!! Dang it's hard to come up with that many names....
