Anson...we can only hope....

I just read that post you referred to earlier...

I think I will give that person the benefit of the doubt and HOPE they were getting at the fact that a lot of people don't consider chams cute...
you know...they have a face only a mother could love...or they are so ugly they're cute...that kind of thinking.
I'd like to believe that if they flat out meant Gala was ugly...which she is NOT!...they wouldn't of put the LMAO.
Unfortunately...they should of clarified what they meant! To avoid potentially hurting your feelings!
It was insentsitive the way it was done.

Yes Kim I HOPE it was meant that way too. I was probably just being overly sensitive about it too. Part of the reason I am being sensitive is that besides Gala's death I have been dealing with a sick female veiled that I rescued from a pet shop about a month ago(they had her in a tiny glass tank, peat moss substrate, ect ect ect) I brought her home with a swollen abdomen and gave her time to lay eggs in case she was gravid but she never laid and was past what I thought would be a reasonable time to lay her eggs. I found out today that she is indeed eggbound (confirmed by an x-ray) and that the eggs never fully formed and she has peritonitis (not sure of spelling) Her prognosis is bleak and she is not expected to make it although we tried oxitocin (not sure of spelling) and will try an antibiotic and a steroid to see if by a miracle she can reabsorb them. She is a fighter though and is still eating like a pig but if she starts to decline and suffer I will have her put down since that would mean she is being crushed by her own eggs and swelling and I don't want her to suffer like that.
On the happy side (what could be happy after that?)I have her eggs that the same pet store gave me last November (they don't have an incubator) and when I came home after the vet visit today and opened my incubator I stared right into the tiny face of her first born son. Sitting right next to another egg with his little tail all coiled up already. One egg hatched 28 more to go. Good thing I know how to build cages. I hope the little guy makes it. I would appreciate any tips on raising babies from everyone. Wish me luck!

Sorry to hear about your veiled. You sound like a really good person who gives the best care you can!

As it is said: when a door closes a window opens - and the new little guy is climbing through that window
