Advice on Breeders!

dloper2 Nov 24, 2008 09:01 PM

Hi blood python experts, I could use your help. My boyfriend's birthday is coming up, and he's in love with blood pythons. He has a girl already, and I know he would absolutely love a male. He got his female from a small time breeder at a reptile show, so this time I wanted to get him one from a really reputable breeder. I know its a crapshoot as to how their coloration will turn out, but I also know that genetics can play a part. If anyone can make any recommendations I would really appreciate it!

I have got more than a few bloods from Tracy Barker @ VPI pythons and all have far surpassed my expectations. The Barkers are great people to do buisness with and I know she has great super hot normal red bloods in her collection. go to vpi.com

Many of the blood breeders are INSANE with record keeping. Ask to see photos of the parents. I personally am saving up for a red from Kara at Bloodpythons.com, Ryan norris has some screamers as well, Jeff Hartwig I think is still doing reds, James McGee has some GORGEOUS reds, Jason at Red Python has some nice bombs, Tracy at VPI has some wacky cool stuff.

Basically look to people who have been doing this a while with established blood lines. So to speak.

LOL Honestly, no clue! Click on his name up top and email him. He is in Southern IL. Ryan is in IA, The barkers are in TX? Or is it AZ. Kara is in NH.
