frozen foods

i was wondering how long they stay fresh in the freezer. the reason i ask is i order once a year. so this year ill be getting 175 large rats. think they would last a year???

Number one is that the packages need to be as airtight as possible, and the second is the temperature. Zero degrees F is the highest temperature you can allow for extended storage. Minus 5 F is better, as bacterial activity is halted at this temp and will continue at a slow rate at any temps above this. The absolute best is minus 15 F or lower as all enzymatic breakdown activity is halted below this temp. However, most home freezers will not go this low, but most will go down to minus 5 F.
