Seeking Photos of Oregon Cal Kings

Ameron Nov 25, 2008 12:29 AM

I'm interested in photos of Cal Kings caught or photographed in Oregon. I'm curious about locale-specific patterns & colors.

Are there ever light-phase specimens, or are they typically dark like most interior Cal Kings?

In my experience, they are always black with narrow white bands.

Brian Hubbs may be the one to answer this question.

In 10 years of living in CA, I only recall seeing a Cal King twice. Once on Camp Pendleton near Christianitos Spring, the other along the Owens River.

Each was a lighter phase, and quite long, about 5 feet.

I've lived in the Porltand area now for 18 years and normally only seen Garters when herping.

I'd love to see Kingsnakes in southern OR. Maybe one day...

"Brian Hubbs may be the one to answer this question.'

Yeah but Brian is computer illiterate and could not even find this thread much less post pictures. He can only do things like flip trash and write books about it.

Well, Rainer, at least "I" know how to answer my phone once in awhile (or is yours turned off again?)...and yes, most CKs in Oregon are black or dark brown and white or light cream.

I have also heard the kings up there are always black and white.
