Would it be ok to feed my senegal chameleon a hormworm moth? One hatched out and i'm not sure if its ok. The yellow spots make me nervous, but i figure that that could be startle coloration. any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks! jen

Wild caught tomato worms are considered toxic because of their natural diet. Tomato and potato plants are in the toxic nightshade family, their leaves and stems contain the toxin. Captive bred hornworms that are raised on an artificial diet are safe and routinely sold as feeders for reptiles.

If this moth morphed from a captive raised feeder hornworm then it would be safe, otherwise it is not worth the risk.

ty for replying. it was captive raised, but i decided to preserve it just in case. they look cool, and it was making my chameleon angry anyway.
