New Rose pics...

Jonathan_Brady Nov 25, 2008 03:51 PM

I haven't taken any outside pics of ANY animals in quite some time. I thought the first should be Rose. She's still not looking quite her best after her recent litter. It's her second in 2 years so she's understandably drab.

She has darkened quite a bit from the 2 litters and it's REALLY easy to see on her lateral badges and tail. Also, she's only shed twice since her litter (one 2 weeks after and her most recent shed) so I know she'll continue to improve as she adds some weight and sheds a few more times.

In addition to her darker lateral badges and tail, her overall color was rather understated today as well. So like I said, presentable at best. But here it goes anyway...

This is probably the best pic of the bunch

Thanks for looking.

just send her my way.

Still looking good. I guess she is in the MILF stage of her life.

Take care,

Kevin

I shipped her out overnight to you tonight. She should be there tomorrow. If she doesn't show up, don't leave your porch for Thanksgiving, she could show up at any time!

Thanks for the compliments!

I would camp in the yard!

She looks like she's recovered nicely from her litter.
She's not really that big... What like 5 1/2 feet or so? I had one like that go for me last year. Seems like the "smaller" ones bounce back quicker.

She's about 5.5' or so. Coming up on 6' soon, I believe. And yes, she's definitely recovering nicely from her litter. She's putting weight back on very well. And actually, I have a feeling I could produce with her again this season, but I'm going to give her the year off anyway. I really want her to build some muscle mass back up. I didn't even notice how well she was doing until I took her outside! lol I was just leaving her alone
I'm hoping to take her back outside in the spring with a few more inches and pounds put on and snap some pics of her. I think she'll look a LOT better at that time!
Thanks,
jb

JB,

Just realize she'll get darker with every subsequent litter. That you can't control, no matter what she looked liked in her "glory" days.

It's depressing too. But!!! That's why I'm holding back the best of the best from her litters. That way I get to see her glory days for years to come

Thanks Eric!

"Presentable at best" You are delightfully modest Johnathan.

Rose is one of a kind, even on her worst day she is top billing, thanks for sharing and it looks like she came through back to back years with great body weight... a true testimony to the quality of her care, she deserves that.

Joel

Jonathan_Brady Nov 25, 2008 05:26 PM

I REALLY appreciate that. And you're right to point out how important body tone is and its contribution to beauty.
Thanks man!

Even at her worst, there is just something about her pattern that's unique. Do you have any plans for her next year?

Jonathan_Brady Nov 25, 2008 05:49 PM

She has this current season off (well deserved). As for next season, I won't have another male ready to go just yet, so one of 3 things will happen.
1) I'll give her another year off
2) I'll buy another male that'll be ready to pair with her
3) I'll repeat the pairing from this year

We'll see when the time comes!

She's probably my favorite snake of all time! Rose and Ramero are the two responsible for my passion with Bcc. I feel both very lucky and proud to own some of her offspring. Thanks for sharing her Jonathan. Adam

Jonathan_Brady Nov 25, 2008 09:45 PM

lol
Thanks Adam!
Passion like yours for boas is hard to come by. Glad I can be a part of it
